Fidyah

Fidyah

Fidyah

Allah Almighty said (For days numbered. And whoso among you is sick or on a journey: then a number of other days. And for those who are able to do it is a redemption: feeding a needy person. And whoso does good voluntarily, it is better for him. And that you fast is better for you, if you would know)  Great truth of God

This verse reminds us of the importance of social solidarity and caring for the poor and needy in society. It teaches us that even in cases where fasting is exempted, we can offer Fidyah to help achieve comfort and happiness for those who are unable to fast.

Fidyah is the charity given by a Muslim in case of inability to fast due to illness or travel. This teaching comes from Allah as a mercy to Muslims in times of necessity.

The amount of Fidyah is equivalent to the amount of Zakat Al-Fitr, which is the provision of a full meal for a needy person for one day. The day is calculated as two meals. The person obligated to pay Fidyah can either pay it daily or as a lump sum at the end of Ramadan.

The Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs has announced that the amount of Fidyah for this year is set at 130 Turkish lira per day.

You can pay it according to the determination in your residing country. Additionally, you can contribute any additional amount above the specified sum as a voluntary donation.

Fidyah is not just a righteous deed; it is an opportunity to extend a helping hand to the poor and needy.
